No. 60.
Earl Granville to Mr. O'Conor.
(No. 114. Ext. 25.) Sir,
Foreign Office, May 25, 1885, I HAVE to inform you that I approve the language used by you with reference to the peace negotiations between France and China, as reported in your despatch No. 134 of the 29th March.
You should continue to pay unremitting attention to the question of any differential advantages being granted to France as against this country.
The substance of the above was sent to you this day by telegraph.
1 am, (Signed)
&c.
GRANVILLE.
